Typically, HVAC repairs in Cedar Valley cost around $350. Heating and cool repairs can range in price from $150 to $2000 depending on what needs to be repaired and whether there is any warranty coverage.
Major repair costs should always be compared to the cost of a total replacement. If your HVAC unit is over 10 years old, it’s likely near the end of its service life and not worth repairing.
Western Heating & Air has served Cedar Valley since 1995 with expert HVAC repair services. If your system isn’t working properly, get in touch with us.
Most HVAC systems can last between 10 - 15 years, but this estimate can be highly variable depending on the type of system and other contributing factors.
There are a range of factors that can shorten the life of HVAC equipment. Some of the major factors are:
- Inadequate maintenance.
- Defective parts or poor initial installation of the unit.
- Heating or cooling with windows and doors open.
- A unit that is too large or too small for your home.
Western Heating & Air has served Cedar Valley since 1995 with expert HVAC installation, repair and service. Contact us for more information on our services or to get an installation quote.
The most critical maintenance job for ensuring your air conditioner's performance is to replace or clean its filters on a regular basis. Filters that are clogged or dirty inhibit normal airflow and drastically reduce a system's performance.
Other maintenance might include cleaning your HVAC unit every six months. Clean heating and cooling units perform better and use less energy. Also, make sure the aluminum fins on the HVAC unit are not bent and obstructing airflow. A tool called a "fin comb" can straighten any bent fins. Lastly, ensure the unit’s drain channels aren’t clogged, as this will prevent excess moisture from staining your walls or carpeting.
You can also save time by having a professional perform HVAC maintenance for you. Western Heating & Air has provided Cedar Valley homeowners with expert HVAC service since 1995. Contact us for more information or to schedule service.

Parker was great to work with. He told us what the issues were and even though a piece of equipment was showing some signs of wearing out, he didn't push us to do a repair that wasn't needed at the moment. He talked to us about different options and the costs of those options in the future. He was about service, not sales.

Upon arriving we removed flue and cut new hole and ran flue in 3â€. We were able to strap flue by taking out lights and made sure of proper slope. Modified key back to furnace in 3†and started system to check operation. Upon leaving system was operating properly.

Upon arriving I discussed with customer what was going on. The system was gurgling water and was blowing cold air in the mornings. I found out that the furnace had been cooling in heat and made changes to the dip switch to the Thermostat to allow furnace to run the heat pump or gas heat. Next I found a way to shim flue up to get better slope due to the low spot in the flue length. I used a 2x4 to shim the flue up in the center. Talked with customer and let the, know what was done and if they had further concerns to contact us.

Arrived and assed what was done. Decided with customer that we would come out sidewall from mechanical room and stub gas line into wall. Ran new and longer CSST and modified valve configuration.

I performed an AC tune up on a 2004 System. The system has a critical issue. The condenser fan motor is shorted and need to be replaced. Other than that the system seems okay. See health report card for more details. I’ll send a estimate for replacing this motor with this invoice.

Came to residence for prepaid WSC tune-up on a '17 ac system. Equipment functional upon arrival. Upon inspection of the indoor systems, I found the 16x25x4 filter is starting to get dirty but is fine for another few months. All electrical and mechanical parts are functioning well. The temperature split across the evaporative coil is good and so is the static pressure. The system is clean and running smoothly. Moving outside, I found all components are operating properly. My electrical measurements are within manufacturer specifications. I cleaned the disconnect and condenser. Overall, the unit is in good shape. See health report card for any specific information. Equipment functional upon departure. Thanks for your business and have a great day!

Return today to install warranty circuit board. Installed the board verified that unit came on and would shut off. System is operating properly at this time.

Service call on furnace and AC tuneup. Found furnace not operating today due to a faulty flame sensor. Flame sensor was not too dirty but was not reading correctly. Replaced flame sensor entirely and system is now reading as it should. Ac tune up Tuneup on a 2005 Rheem air conditioner. System is starting to show some Signs of wear. Found both blower motor capacitor and outdoor capacitor measuring slightly weak. I have included an estimate to replace both of these capacitors. All other electrical components and temperature splits are correct at this time. System is running properly upon departure.

Came to residence for prepaid MSC tune-ups on two ac systems, a '14 Lennox ac unit and a '20 Amana ac unit. Equipment functional upon arrival. Upon inspection of the larger Lennox outdoor condenser, I found all components are operating properly and all measurements are well within manufacturer specifications at this time. No foreseeable issues. I cleaned the condenser and disconnect. Upon inspection of the smaller Amana outdoor condenser, I found that the unit is also measuring well in all categories and all electrical and mechanical parts are functioning correctly. I also cleaned off this unit's disconnect and condenser. Moving inside, I checked the right-hand system's evaporative coil and blower wheel and found them to be clean and functioning well. All electrical measurements are good and everything is operating properly. The filter is in good shape and the temperature split is good, indicating proper refrigerant levels and good operation. Checking the left-hand system's compon

Two unit AC tuneup. While doing the tuneup on the main unit. I know the system is acting erratically due to faulty wiring. When I shut the unit off with the thermostat, the compressor was still running. Upon further inspection, I found a dark mark on the control board. This will be a warranty part. We will return when the part arrives to install it. The upstairs unit is operating within specifications. Thanks

I performed an AC tune up on 2015 system. The system is working properly, the compressor could use a Hard Start kit to increase its longevity, other than that is doing good. The air handler is old and is showing signs of age, it will, probably need a new motor soon, but was running when I left. I changed the filter. See health report card for more details.

Maintenance plan AC tune up. AC is getting old. Customer would like to get by a little longer without replacing as they are selling the home. Installed new capacitor and hard start kit to help it stay going. Also looked at the water heater that stopped working. We installed it about 5 months ago. The control board inside the gas valve has gone bad. Rheem is shipping the part out and will be here Friday. Part and labor should both be under warranty. Whoever goes out to do the gas valve can call me with questions. They should only need to replace the cover and the board.

AC tune up refer to health report card. Electrically system is performing very well no high amp draws at this point in time. Indoor system is clean with no restriction in airflow. Both indoor and outdoor units do not have a surge protection device in use given the indoor and outdoor equipment are intelligent appliances with control board highly recommend systems to have surge protection. Indoor unit does not have a wet switch in use can help prevent water damage to equipment given close proximity to plumbing and main drain for unit. Outdoor unit does not have a hard start kit this aids in keeping initial amp draws in the compressor to be at a minimum keeping the compressor motor windings healthier for longer. Outdoor unit was dirty and it was cleaned off will want to keep an eye on cleanliness of condensing coil just due to the amount of debris that was cleaned out of it. Overall system performing well. Recommendations refer to estimates. Installed surge protectors on both outsid

I came to do a 1st year free furnace tund up. The air scrubber bulb is out. They do not have a surge protector. The filter was dirty. Today I did a 29 point furnace tune up. I changed the filter. I replaced air scrubber bulb under 2 year warranty. I added a new humidifier pad. I added a surge protector. The furnace was running when I left.

The 2018 amana furnace was not working. Blower turned off because of high static pressure. We switched from a 20x25x1 filter to a 20x25x4 filter. We lowered are speed to lowest setting. They do not have a humidifier in the home. Today I did a tune up. Put in a 4" filterThey signed up for 1 year monument club. They are going to think about a humidifier. Furnace was running when i left.
