Rod Black first founded Western Heating & Air back in 1995. Rod was known for his hard work and grit, as well as being generous and kind with his time and service. His reputation for good work and kindness spread throughout the area, allowing his business to grow quickly. People appreciated working with a home comfort company they could trust.
After running Western for 12 years, Rod and his wife, Carol, decided to turn their focus to their church. Devoted members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, they wanted to work on an out of state mission for the church. They began looking for the right owners to continue their company’s mission without them.
New Ownership, Same Great Service
In 2007, Ryan Snow received a call from Rod Black. Rod and Ryan had worked together on and off for years in the HVAC industry. Ryan knew and appreciated the strong business Rod had created and nurtured. Rod asked Ryan and his wife, Angie, if they would be interested in taking over for him and purchasing Western Heating & Air. Their answer was a life-changing yes!
Ryan and Angie returned to their home state of Utah as the new owners of Western Heating & Air. Both Ryan and Angie grew up on farms. Raised on hard and honest work, they set forth to continue those values in their company, as well as carry on Ron’s legacy of a solid, reliable heating and cooling company. The founding principle on which they built their business upon is the Red Handkerchief Promise . The concept comes from Ryan’s childhood watching his father work on the farm. He would always carry a red handkerchief in his pocket and would use it to wipe the blood, sweat and tears brought on by whatever that day’s work may have been. To Ryan it symbolizes hard work, dedication to your craft and doing whatever it takes to make things right. Now, through Western Heating & Air, Ryan continues that promise to do the right thing for each and every customer, each and every time.
Our history is rich with honest, good hard work while our future looks to continue that tradition while still staying innovative in our field.
Since Ryan and Angie have taken the reins, there have been a few changes. For instance, in 2018 we opened our second branch in Lehi, UT and it has been an incredible chance for growth. Ultimately, however, our company values still remain the same, focused on the highest standards of work and doing the right thing the first time.
We are so proud to continue the good work that Rod Black started. We’ve expanded our charity and non-profit work, and have donated thousands of dollars and many hours of time to those less fortunate in our community.
Our team has been the proud recipient of the Best of Utah Valley Award for the last five years! In addition, we’ve received thousands of 5-star reviews of our service. We have a BBB A+ rating as well as multiple certifications of training for our team members. And ultimately, we love what we do — serving our customers with exceptional home comfort service from start to finish.
