Major problem alleviated during furnace tune up in Pleasant Grove!
Are you still wondering if you really need a furnace tune up?
One Pleasant Grove home owner is very grateful that he called us to do his furnace tune up! Because our technician, Richard, was very thorough and observant, he helped find a MAJOR problem that we were able to fix!
Upon completion of tuning up the furnaces, Richard looked around the mechanical room just to make sure everything in there was good. He noticed some soot on the water heater and decided to make sure that the venting system was working properly.
On further inspection, he found that flue gases had been spilling out of the water heater flue and getting so hot that it melted the plastic on the top of the water heater. The flue gases should be going out the vent, not spilling onto the water heater.
Richard called Jim out and he inspected the flue piping and found this in the attic. The venting had come apart and was not allowing the flue gases to leave the home. Instead, all of the flue gases were being forced out of the water heaters and filling the home with the exhaust from the furnace and water heaters.
What a dangerous situation for a home owner! Luckily, Jim was easily able to fix this venting problem and make this home MUCH safer!
We are so grateful that we have technicians like Richard, who go beyond the typical furnace tune up to make sure that home owners are safe! Great job Richard!
